I’m hosting open gallery/library hours at Center for Sex & Culture for my solo exhibition of drawings, curated by Dorothy Santos and co-sponsored by Queer Cultural Center. The party for Queer Open Studios will be a lovely time to stop by too. (Coloring Station will be set up too!)

Dorian Katz, aka Poppers the Pony, draws no line between the innocent and truly perverse in her visual art.  Katz often uses alter egos and self-portraits that cast her as subject, but is a practice inclusive of more varied contexts and concerns than simple self-portraits. She places herself, the animals and friends typically populating her drawings into retellings of historical stories, a blurring of science (data on animals) and fictions, art history and invented narratives. Many of her projects handle adult themes while utilizing childlike visual references. She tries to present inclusive views of sexuality with humor. Current drawings are posted frequently:
